Brenda, your piece feels so gentle and wise to me. I love how you give empathy its own dignity and time – without rushing, without solutions, just with presence. While reading, I felt that this is the greatest strength we can offer others. Thank you for the sensitivity and depth you put into it. ❤️
Compassion it’s very scary these days Brenda. Jesus emulated it more than anyone that has walked the Earth. It’s a virtue we should all have possessed and give out.
Empathy too is such a beautiful sister. Reading this feels like a lesson guidance and I appreciate the topic.
Thank you Paul. I was a full time carer, in both domiciliary and care homes. I too was a live in carer. Empathy played a huge role. Through my years as a carer I found empathy first worked. Compassion and action always came later. This poem stemmed from that time and reading.
And thank you for subscribing. Glad to have you in my corner.

Your words truly mean so much. Thank you Dora for always giving my writing such brilliant feedback. This one was tough. 💞

You're such a beautiful writer ma'am♥️
Thank you Ral. 🌸
I loved reading this poem - the bit about empathy moving into compassion - I’ve never thought about it in that way, or the depth of meaning behind it.
