Hope
"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." — Hebrews 11:1
Hope is not optional. Without it, life caves in on itself.
It is the seed that holds tomorrow.
It is the anchor that keeps us from drifting.
It is the oil in the lamp while we wait in the night.
A mustard seed of hope is enough.
It grows where despair says nothing can grow.
It stands where worry would topple.
It waits where fear cannot wait.
Hope is not denial of what is hard.
But the quiet nudge to let go of doubt.
It is the steady hand of God in the dark,
quietly saying, hold on.
And hope is not content to remain in the shadows.
It does not live only in corners where sorrow gathers.
Hope is God’s light breaking in,
shining on the path, showing the way forward.
It is manna in the wilderness - just enough for today.
It is water from the rock - impossible, yet given.
It is the cloud by day and the fire by night,
assuring us that we are not abandoned.
Hope is not fragile; it is fierce.
It endures storms,
waits through silence,
and keeps watch at the grave until resurrection comes.
Hope is not the shaking ground beneath our feet,
but the rock of ages, the strong tower.
Hope is not the ending of the story,
but the seed that falls into the earth and lives again.
Hope is not a frail wish, but honey for the soul.
When all else fails, hope does not.
Because it does not belong to us alone.
It is Christ in us, the hope of glory.
Hope is not the echo of fear,
but the voice of God saying, “Fear not, for I am with you.”
Hope is not the silence of despair,
but the promise that “those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.”

when was the last time I read something this good on Substack? thank you so much, Ma'am. I believe it’s a blessing meeting you today and getting to be a part of this amazing poetry and the acknowledgment of God’s role in our lives and also what we do.
Such a beautiful reflection on hope 🙏 Truly the Word says Now faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1) and again We have this hope as an anchor for the soul firm and secure (Hebrews 6:19) Even in our darkest valleys we can cling to the promise that “those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength they shall mount up with wings like eagles they shall run and not be weary they shall walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31) Thank you for reminding us that hope is not fragile but fierce because it rests in Christ alone Christ in you the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27) May the Lord fill you with all joy and peace in believing so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 15:13) We would love to have your teachings and preachings in India, sister. There are many preachers here who truly need the wisdom and guidance you share.
