the path
theres always a path before us laid
through meadow bright or forest shade
some well trod soil some lost to bramble
each step a choice each choice a gamble
❃
some lead us out to fields of gold
where stories new and hearts unfold
some twist through fog where echoes call
and we cant see the way at all
❃
theres one of joy theres one of sin
one beckons out one pulls us in
one lined with loves soft perfumed air
another strewn with deep despair
❃
theres one we walk with hand in hand
another through a shadowed land
till weary footed hearts grown wise
reach the road where daylight dies
❃
yet still we walk though paths may part
with dust on boots and hope in heart
for every road both rough and fair
has led us here and keeps us there
❃
and when the paths fall out of view
as all long roads must one day do
i will rest my step where silence weeps
and let the earth reclaim my sleep
❃

I felt a quiet kind of peace. It reminded me that we’re all walking our own paths—sometimes clear, sometimes lost in the fog—but every step matters. The last line, “let the earth reclaim my sleep,” really touched me. It feels like a gentle acceptance of life’s end and a return to calm.
Loved it! 😍
