When Disappointment Knocks
Disappointment, a subject hard to discuss. Being disappointed about the weather is one thing but being disappointed about an attitude - a different kettle of fish entirely.
There are many scenarios that cause disappointment. A child losing a toy, that to them is very tragic and they will walk around with a disappointed face for a while until mom miraculously finds it.
Or, and this was me this week. Frustration. Oh boy does this cause disappointment big time. Frustrated because things are not packed away and left lying around, despite reminders. Not getting what was asked from the shop. Oh, I could go on.
Those little things disappoint. Some may say, but just get over it. That presses buttons by the way. However, show me person that isn’t disappointed, that something didn’t arrive when they wanted it, and, when it isn’t what they wanted. That is an easy disappoint. I will admit that. But disappointment never-the-less.
Frustration is not a stand alone: it comes with disappointment.
Sometimes, disappointment comes along and pierces the soul. I can provide many ways this can happen but I know that as you read this you will bring that to mind. When that disappointment comes along, we just need someone to sit beside us, hold our hand and allow those feelings to manifest.
This poem is for those who finds disappointment lingers.
~
disappointment
a word that stills
stops your tracks
wounds the soul
~
brings deep sorrow
feelings so low
causes aches
makes tears flow
~
catches you unaware
sends you into a stare
while you ponder
those reasons
~
disappointment
comes and goes
we need to allow
for those moments
~
understand why
and don’t let
thoughts multiply
just accept
~
not easy at first
time is a healer
empathy seals
disappointment
~
I hoped you enjoyed this poem and I look forward to your comments on the subject. Disappointment follows everyone and we need to be able to voice it and bear with those who struggle.

From the experience of disappointment, comes a beautiful poem.
