Fluffy Clouds
A driveby shoot......
We were driving to Banchory yesterday for a spot of shopping, when I looked up and - just... wow. The Scottish sky was putting on the kind of show that makes you forget all about problems and everyday errands.
The road stretched out in front of us, winding through this incredible landscape that never fails to take my breath away. Those rolling hills and mountains, the green fields divided by ancient stone walls, trees dotting the countryside and the vista, indescribable. But - it was the clouds overhead that had me completely mesmerized.
I kept grabbing my iPhone - some shots through the windscreen, others hanging my arm out the open window like a proper tourist. My husband probably thought I'd lost the plot, the way I was gasping and pointing at every dramatic formation rolling across the sky. But I couldn't help myself. I missed some perfect shots as silly me kept putting my phone down to take in the views.
Scotland just gets to me, you know? Doesn't matter if it's pouring rain, blazing sunshine, or one of those wild windy days - something about this place always lifts my spirits. When I look back through all our photos from previous trips, so many of them capture these same moments - vast landscapes topped with those incredible Scottish skies.
Choosing Scotland as our holiday destination is always a no-brainer for us. We all get something different from it - my son and husband come for the hiking and mountain biking, while I'm perfectly content with shorter walks and long sits just drinking in the beauty around me. Scotland always delivers, even when the weather doesn't cooperate.
So here are my photos from yesterday’s impromptu cloud-watching session. Some are a bit wonky from shooting on the move, but that's half the charm, isn't it? Pure Scottish magic, caught between here and there.
The vista was just incredible.
Driving out of Banchory, we stopped as I saw an awesome area that showed Autumn arriving. However, the above landscape just caught my eye.
This is my favourite. My husband slowed the car down so I could wind the window down to take this.
Scotland just does not disappoint with its open landscape.
Late yesterday we took at quick trip to Alford to take our poorly dog to the Vet. On the way I took a couple of photo’s as the sky was just incredible. They were just quick snaps as we were driving rather quickly. Here is my best one.
Sometimes it is just great to stop writing and capture nature at it’s best.
